Professional Development Days

Professional Development Days & Local Collaborations

Once a year, all level 6 Foundation Apprentices attend Professional Development Days to refine their meta-skills and develop the learning gained on their Foundation Apprenticeship courses.  The days are highly interactive – often involving industry-standard simulations and are led by industry experts. In recent years, these days have sparked collaborations between Aberdeenshire Council Foundation Apprenticeships and local industry partners, e.g. the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, Northeast Scotland College (NESCOL), Twenty One Studio, One Tech Hub, Johnston Carmichael, Maryculter House Hotel, Midmill Primary School and others.

Our level 4 and 5 FAs attend site and/or local business visits throughout the year to gain a more in-depth insight into the sector. Visits in the past have included the First Bus Depot, Alford Transport Museum, Trinity Hall in Aberdeen, The Albyn, Saplinbrae Hotel, Banff Springs Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel, David Smith Contractors, and many others.
